The Problem -

Were not fitness fanatics or gym bunnies. Like everyone else, we struggle to find the time and motivation to exercise. We enjoy burgers, beer and biryani just as much as the next conflicted and time-strapped individual.
We reckon - though some might beg to differ - that we fall into the category of "reasonably normal". (To be honest, this is only true of three of the four of us involved in this endeavour.  The remaining one is an outlier and starts to feel ill if two days goes by without a kettlebell being swung or a pavement being pounded.)

The Fix

Weve found a solution: working out in a group makes it more manageable.  Fun, even.  The answer may seem simplistic - but finding people to work out with on a regular basis is no easy task. It started small with us - just two guys training a couple of times a week with some rusty weights.  But before long, the numbers grew as friends and friends of friends joined, eventually settling at about seven or eight regulars with plenty of occasional guests.
With a group,  a 10-minute drive followed by an intense workout becomes easier than thirty push-ups in your own living room. And once that routine’s established, you quickly find yourself in decent shape and staying that way.
Our workouts vary in location and nature. Sometimes youll find us at the local park working out on the parallel bars and pull-up bars. Other times, we’ll be alternating hill-sprints with body-weight exercises. The one constant though, is our post-workout cool down, which generally involves a protein shake followed by home-brewed beer.

The App is Born

In an attempt to maintain some level of fitness over the New Year holiday break, we found ourselves entertaining local fishermen on Vietnams Phu Quoc island with our fitness regime.  Over seven days we managed three runs, two ‘pack of cards’ workouts and an undocumented number of Saigon beers.  After one run along a deserted beach, we cooled off in the sea and decided we should create an app.
Having benefited from training with a group, it was the “Connect and Exercise” idea that eventually grabbed us.  We hope that people will enjoy the app as a way to connect with others and get each other motivated.
